2016 Annual Assembly: Agenda Activists

About Agenda Activists

You are invited to help in the ongoing design of this learning partnership by taking responsibility for one aspect of the process during this conference. Everyone belongs to one of four leadership groups, each group acting as stewards on behalf of the whole community.

Elect one or two leaders of your leadership group to keep everyone on task and ensure that your findings are posted on e-pbo.org! Decide your strategy for finding out and noting burning issues and priorities of all participants

There will be times set in the agenda during the conclusion of each day for your group to come together and consolidate your reflections. On day 4 your group will make recommendations to the plenary. The table below summarizes the role, guiding questions, and outputs of the agenda activists.

Role of Agenda Activists

ROLE

You are responsible for driving a shared learning agenda.

Keep track of emerging issues, challenges, learning opportunities, and potential joint activities and projects.

Some suggestions for how to do this:

  • Review written notes from World Café
  • Listen and take notes during all sessions
  • Find out informally during breaks
  • Invite suggestions on post-it notes
  • Invite people to prioritize the issues through voting

Guiding Questions

  • How well are we pursuing the topics? Are they the right topics and to the right level of detail?
  • What are the topics and activities we should be pursuing at the next meeting?
  • What work could be done between now and the next meeting to better prepare for those topics?
  • Is any training or special expertise going to be necessary to enable progress on any of the issues?

Outputs

  1. A summary of the group’s key insights on the agenda: strengths, weaknesses and recommendations for next year
  2. A prioritized list of topics for future meetings - with suggested activities for pursuing those topics.

These two outcomes should be uploaded on the e-PBO portal for everyone to review and provide feedback, as well as shared with the larger group on Day 4.

Coordinate with Benji Holzman, e-PBO Community Manager, to create new content and sections on the portal.
